From single-line entry models to 8-line high-speed cold-cut production — LayerQuestar covers every output scale for HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE vest bags. 9 models. 3 technology platforms. One supplier.
From standard HDPE supermarket vest bags to printed shopping carriers — every bag type shown here is produced on a LayerQuestar T-shirt bag making machine.
T-shirt bag making machines convert roll-fed polyethylene film into finished vest-style carrier bags — sealed, punched and stacked in a single automated pass. The same machine platform also produces flat bottom-seal bags when the punching unit is disengaged.
HDPE T-shirt bags for grocery checkout, convenience stores and market vendors. Typical thickness 12–20 micron. High-volume, fast-cycle production.
Pre-printed LDPE or LLDPE vest bags for branded retail. Photoelectric eye tracking ensures accurate print registration at full production speed.
With the punching unit disengaged, the same machine produces open-top flat bags for produce, food, garment and industrial packaging. Thickness range 10–100 micron.
Input: tubular or flat roll film (from blown film extrusion). Output: finished bags — sealed, punched, stacked and counted. Need a blown film machine?
Three questions determine your machine. Answer them in order.
This is the most fundamental technical decision. It affects bag edge quality, machine speed ceiling, and which models are available to you.

Every LayerQuestar T-shirt bag machine — regardless of platform — is built on the same core automation and control architecture.
All models run PLC-based computer control with LCD touchscreen interface. Servo motor drive enables automatic bag length setting — no manual adjustment needed between production runs. Program parameters are stored and recalled instantly.
Photoelectric sensors detect printed registration marks on pre-printed roll film and automatically adjust feed length to keep every bag's design correctly positioned. Auto-stop with alarm triggers if registration error exceeds tolerance — preventing waste from misaligned cuts.
The cutting blade uses independent current heating with a high-precision temperature controller. Temperature is maintained automatically — consistent sealing quality across varying film thicknesses and ambient conditions, without operator intervention.
Swing-type discharge system combined with a bag bottom shaping device ensures finished bags are neatly stacked with consistent alignment. Handle punch holes land at the correct position every cycle. Conveyor belt output moves stacked bags to downstream packing without manual handling.
Automatic bag counting with preset quantity alarm. Machine auto-stops when the target count is reached. Overload, over-voltage and over-current protection are built in across all models. Label-loss auto-stop prevents waste when printed film registration marks are missed.
Match your operation profile to the right platform. If you are unsure, contact LayerQuestar — we will recommend a configuration based on your bag dimensions and daily output target.
Single-line, straightforward operation. Wide bag size range covers most retail bag formats. Lowest complexity — 2 operators can run the line. Best entry point for first-time factory owners.
Dual-line operation doubles output from the same floor space. Servo control and photoelectric tracking handle printed film reliably. Ideal for factories supplying supermarket chains or growing retail clients.
Single-lane operation for bags up to 700mm wide. The widest hot-cut models in the lineup. Suitable for large grocery bags, department store carriers and wide flat bags. Compact 800kg frame, 5kW power.
700 bags per minute combined output. Cold-cut technology for cleaner bag edges. The highest single-machine speed in the LayerQuestar lineup. For factories running 2–3 shifts supplying large retail chains or export markets.
6 or 8 simultaneous production lines from a single machine. Double-layer processing maximises bags per square metre of floor space. For industrial-scale operations producing small-format T-shirt bags at the lowest cost per bag.
Tell LayerQuestar your bag dimensions, daily output target and material — we will recommend the right model and configuration, with a reference production plan at no cost.

Common questions from buyers evaluating T-shirt bag making machines.
Hot cut machines seal and cut the bag in a single heated operation. The cut edge has a slight heat-fused finish, which is acceptable for most retail and grocery bags. Cold cut machines seal the bag bottom with heat, then cut the open top with a cold blade — producing a cleaner, undistorted edge. Cold cut is preferred for quality retail bags and runs at higher speed. Cold cut machines also support multi-line configurations (4, 6 or 8 lines) for maximum output.
Single-line models (LQ-600/700/800) can be operated by 1–2 people — one to monitor the machine and one to handle finished bag stacks. Dual-line and multi-line models typically require 2–3 operators depending on whether downstream packing is manual or automated. All models use PLC control with stored programs, so changeover between bag sizes does not require specialist technical knowledge.
All models are compatible with HDPE and LDPE film. Most models also support LLDPE. The LQ-2L4L series additionally supports PP film. The LQ-2L6L supports non-woven fabric in addition to standard polyethylene films. Film thickness compatibility varies by model — from 10 micron (thin HDPE grocery bags) up to 100 micron (LQ-2LR series). Confirm your film specification with LayerQuestar before selecting a model.
Yes. All LayerQuestar T-shirt bag machines include a photoelectric eye (colour mark sensor) that detects printed registration marks on pre-printed roll film and automatically adjusts the feed length to maintain correct print positioning. If the sensor misses a registration mark, the machine auto-stops and triggers an alarm to prevent wasted film and misaligned bags.
Bag size range varies by model. The LQ-600/700/800 covers bag widths from 200mm to 650mm — one of the widest ranges in the lineup. Multi-line cold cut models (LQ-2L8L-1200) are optimised for small-format bags with sealing widths down to 120mm per line. For bag length, the LQ-450×2 supports lengths from 10mm to 999mm, making it suitable for very short bags. Contact LayerQuestar with your specific bag dimensions for a model recommendation.
No. The bag making machine takes roll film as input — you can source roll film from an external supplier. However, producing your own film with a blown film machine gives you full control over thickness, material blend and cost per kilogram. LayerQuestar supplies both blown film machines and bag making machines, so a complete in-house production line is available from one supplier. See our Blown Film Machine range for compatible upstream equipment.
On servo-controlled models, bag length changeover is done via the PLC touchscreen — the operator enters the new length and the machine adjusts automatically. No mechanical adjustment is required for length changes within the model's range. Width changeover requires a physical film roll change and guide adjustment, which typically takes 15–30 minutes depending on operator experience. Stored programs allow frequently-used bag formats to be recalled instantly.
Every LayerQuestar bag making machine runs a 72-hour continuous production test at our Zhejiang factory before shipment. The test verifies speed consistency, sealing quality, counting accuracy, alarm functions and fault protection systems under sustained operating conditions. Test records are available on request. Buyers are welcome to witness the factory acceptance test in person — contact LayerQuestar to arrange a visit.
