Before you commit to a machine purchase, you deserve to know exactly what LayerQuestar commits to in return. Every term on this page is a real obligation — not marketing language.
Our warranty period begins on the day your machine is installed, commissioned, and running — not the day it leaves our factory. That distinction matters.
Most manufacturers start the clock on the shipping date. We start it when your engineer confirms the machine is running. If installation takes 3 months after delivery, you still receive a full 2 years of coverage from that point.
| Component | Covered | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Screw & Barrel Assembly | Covered | Manufacturing defects and premature wear under normal operating conditions |
| Main Drive Motor (ABB / Innomotics) | Covered | Full unit replacement or repair; brand warranty backed by LayerQuestar |
| Gearbox | Covered | Designed for 8–10 year service life; 2-year failure is abnormal and covered |
| Temperature Controllers (OMRON PID) | Covered | Electronic component failure within 2 years is a quality issue, not wear |
| Solenoid Valves & Pneumatic Components | Covered | Non-consumable; failure covered under manufacturing warranty |
| Control Cabinet & Electrical Components | Covered | Wiring, relays, contactors — defects in materials or assembly |
| Heating Bands / Heater Elements | Not Covered | Consumable item; lifespan depends on start/stop frequency and resin type |
| Die Head Seals & O-Rings | Not Covered | Normal maintenance consumables; replacement schedule in operator manual |
| Nip Roll Rubber Surfaces | Not Covered | Friction wear item; replacement frequency depends on film type and tension |
| Damage from Operator Error | Not Covered | Includes incorrect resin, over-temperature operation, unauthorised modifications |
The full warranty terms document — including claim procedure, shipping responsibility for returned parts, and response time commitments — is available as a PDF download above. We recommend reviewing it before purchase.
We maintain a standing inventory of high-wear and critical components for every machine model we have shipped. When you order a part, it leaves our Zhejiang warehouse within 48 hours.
Parts leave our Zhejiang warehouse within 48 hours of confirmed order. International transit time depends on your country and chosen freight method — typically 3–7 days by air freight to most markets.
Dispatch time, not delivery timeWe supply only original-specification components — the same parts installed during manufacture. No generic substitutes are offered without explicit disclosure and your approval.
LayerQuestar commits to maintaining spare parts availability for a minimum of 10 years from machine delivery date. You will not be left with an unsupported machine after a few years.
10-year parts commitmentWith every machine shipment, we provide a recommended first-year consumables kit — heating bands, seals, O-rings — so you are not waiting on an international shipment for a routine maintenance item.
Most production issues can be diagnosed and resolved remotely. Our engineers are trained to guide your operators through troubleshooting via video call — in English.
Share a live video of the issue via WhatsApp or video call. Our engineers diagnose in real time and walk your operator through the resolution step by step.
For complex issues, we provide a written diagnosis with step-by-step instructions within 24 hours of receiving your report. Documentation you can share with your local technician.
Standard support hours: Monday–Saturday, 08:00–18:00 CST (UTC+8). For unplanned downtime outside these hours, send a WhatsApp message with a video — we commit to a written response within 24 hours.

For installation commissioning, major overhauls, or issues that cannot be resolved remotely, LayerQuestar engineers travel to your site. We cover every country we ship to.
Our engineers travel to any country where LayerQuestar machines are installed. No region is excluded. Visa and travel logistics are coordinated by our service team.
On-site service is charged on a per-day basis. Flight, accommodation, and visa costs are borne by the customer. The day rate and estimated duration are confirmed in writing before the engineer departs. No surprise invoices.
Initial machine installation and commissioning by a LayerQuestar engineer is included in the machine contract for all turnkey orders. The engineer stays until the machine produces qualified film at the specified output rate.
Contact us via email or WhatsApp with your machine serial number, a description of the issue, and your location.
We attempt remote resolution before scheduling travel. If the issue requires on-site presence, we confirm that in writing.
You receive a written estimate of engineer days required, day rate, and estimated travel costs before any commitment.
Upon your approval, we arrange travel and confirm the arrival date. Typical lead time is 5–10 business days depending on visa requirements.
A well-trained operator is the single biggest factor in machine longevity and film quality consistency. We offer two training formats to fit your situation.
Your operator travels to our Zhejiang facility and trains on the actual machine before it ships. This is the most effective format — hands-on, on the real equipment, with our engineers present throughout.
For operators who cannot travel, we offer structured remote training via video call after machine installation. Sessions are scheduled around your time zone.
These are the questions our sales team hears most often from buyers evaluating their first or second machine purchase.
18 months is within the 2-year warranty period, which begins on commissioning day — not shipping day. Contact us with your machine serial number and a description of the fault. We will diagnose remotely first. If the fault is covered under warranty (manufacturing defect, not operator error or consumable wear), we supply the replacement part at no charge. You pay inbound freight to return the defective part; we cover the replacement part and outbound freight.
Yes. We have dispatched engineers to sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, and other regions with complex visa requirements. Our service team handles the travel logistics. The customer is responsible for flight, accommodation, and visa costs. We provide a written cost estimate before the engineer departs — you approve it before any commitment is made.
We maintain standing inventory for all high-wear and critical components across every model we have shipped. For a part that is not immediately available, we will give you an honest lead time and, where possible, source from our component suppliers on an expedited basis. This is also why we recommend purchasing the first-year consumables kit with your machine — it eliminates the most common urgent part situations entirely.
Yes, under normal operating conditions. Our screws use a WC bi-metallic construction — 38CrMoAlA nitrided steel base with a 1.5–3mm tungsten carbide alloy overlay, hardness HRC 59–65. Premature wear within 2 years under standard PE/PP processing is abnormal and covered. Accelerated wear caused by highly abrasive fillers, incorrect operating temperatures, or non-standard resins outside the specified material range is not covered.
Remote training is available as a structured alternative. We run four video sessions of 90–120 minutes each, scheduled around your time zone. Sessions cover startup procedures, parameter setup, maintenance routines, and fault response. You also receive the full documentation package — English operator manual, wiring diagrams, spare parts catalogue, and a process parameter reference sheet. Factory training remains the recommended option for first-time operators, but remote training has been successfully completed by customers in over 40 countries.
Spare parts remain available for a minimum of 10 years from delivery date. Remote technical support continues to be available on a paid-per-incident basis. On-site engineer service remains available at the standard day rate. You are never left with an unsupported machine — the relationship does not end when the warranty period closes.
Film quality issues are usually caused by one of three things: resin batch variation, process parameter drift, or a mechanical issue. We will diagnose remotely at no charge regardless of warranty status — send us a video of the film defect and your current process parameters. If the cause is a covered component failure, it is handled under warranty. If it is a process issue, our engineer will guide you through the correction. We do not charge for the diagnostic call.
Yes. The warranty terms document is available as a PDF download at the top of this page. It covers the full scope of coverage, exclusions, claim procedure, and response time commitments. We recommend reviewing it before purchase. If you have questions about specific clauses, contact our after-sales team directly — we will answer in writing.
Our after-sales team answers pre-purchase warranty questions every day. Ask us anything — in writing, before you decide.
