Film extrusion. Flexographic printing. Side-seal bag making. Three stages, one supplier, one responsibility. LayerQuestar configures, matches and factory-tests the full line before shipment.
Both paths lead to the same complete line. Choose the one that matches your situation.
No existing equipment. I need to understand what a complete line looks like, what it costs to run, and what output I can expect.
I have one or two stages already running. I need to add the missing stage and make sure it connects cleanly with what I already have.
Every LayerQuestar courier bag line is configured as a matched system — film width, print repeat and bag machine feed width are aligned before the order is confirmed.
The line starts with a 3-layer ABA or ABC blown film machine producing LLDPE/LDPE film at 40–60 μm — the standard thickness range for courier bags. Film width is matched to the bag machine's feed width at the configuration stage.
For branded courier bags, a 2–6 color stack-type flexo printer is inserted between the film extruder and the bag machine. The standard LQ-6C-800 runs at up to 50 m/min; the high-speed LQ-6CH-800 runs at up to 120 m/min for high-volume operations.
The LQ-SSCB series side-seal bag making machine produces finished courier bags with peel-and-seal strip, side seals and bottom seal in a single pass. Choose single-lane for larger bag sizes or dual-lane for maximum throughput on standard sizes.
The film your blown film machine produces determines the tear resistance, seal strength and print quality of the finished bag. Getting this right at the extrusion stage avoids problems downstream.
Survives drop impact during logistics handling
Side seals must not open under parcel load
Contents must not be visible through the bag
Corona-treated outer layer for ink adhesion
All three configurations use the same matched-system approach. The difference is output volume, print capability and capital requirement.

Buying film, printing and bag making from three different suppliers creates three separate responsibility gaps. LayerQuestar closes all three.
Film width, print repeat length and bag machine feed width are verified against each other before the order is confirmed. Mismatches between stages are caught at the factory, not at your installation site.
Every complete line runs for 72 continuous hours at the LayerQuestar factory before shipment. Film quality, print registration and bag seal strength are all verified under production conditions — not just on paper.
When something needs adjusting — film thickness, ink adhesion, seal temperature — there is one engineer to call. No finger-pointing between three separate suppliers about whose machine caused the problem.
Wear parts for all three stages — screws, doctor blades, sealing bars, cutting blades — are stocked and shipped from LayerQuestar. No hunting across three suppliers when a part needs replacing mid-production.
Questions we hear from factory owners planning or expanding a courier bag production line.
A standard 3-stage line (3-layer blown film + 6-color printer + single-lane bag machine) typically requires approximately 15–20 metres in line length and 6–8 metres in width, depending on the specific models selected and whether inline or offline printing is used. Ceiling height requirement is driven by the blown film machine's bubble tower — typically 7–9 metres for the LQ-ABA-1400 series. [NEEDS CLIENT VERIFICATION — confirm exact footprint with your configuration]
A 3-layer ABA structure gives you two independent control points that a mono-layer machine cannot provide. First, the outer A layers can be virgin LLDPE for consistent seal performance and print surface quality, while the centre B layer carries PCR content or colour masterbatch — isolating any visual or mechanical variability from the surface. Second, you can run a stiffer, higher-strength outer layer formulation without affecting the core layer's cost structure. For courier bags specifically, this means better drop-impact resistance at the same overall film thickness.
Most courier bag orders fall into two categories: 2-color (brand logo + barcode area in one or two spot colors) and 4–6 color (full brand livery with process color). Plain white or grey bags with no print are also common for logistics companies that apply their own labels. If your target market is primarily small e-commerce sellers, a 2–4 color machine is usually sufficient. If you are supplying large brand-name e-commerce platforms or logistics companies with complex brand guidelines, a 6-color machine gives you the flexibility to take on any order without turning work away.
Dual-lane (two side-by-side bag lanes on one machine) doubles output to approximately 400 pcs/min, but only for bag widths that fit within each lane's maximum width — typically up to 420 mm per lane. If your primary bag size is a standard small or medium courier bag (250–380 mm wide), dual-lane is the most cost-effective way to double output without buying a second complete machine. If you regularly run large bags (500 mm+ wide), single-lane is the correct choice as the bag width exceeds what dual-lane can accommodate.
Yes. The LQ-SSCB series courier bag machine includes an integrated peel-and-seal (self-adhesive strip) application system as standard. The strip is applied inline during the bag-making cycle. A double-seal option (two strips for resealable bags) is available as a configuration upgrade. [NEEDS CLIENT VERIFICATION — confirm double-seal availability on specific models]
Yes, within the machine's width and length range. Changing bag size requires adjusting the seal bar position (width) and the cutting pitch (length). On servo-driven models, length adjustment is done via the control panel without mechanical changes. Width adjustment requires a physical repositioning of the side-seal bars, which typically takes 20–40 minutes. If you run many different sizes frequently, discuss this with our engineers at the configuration stage — the machine can be set up to minimise changeover time for your specific size range.
The bag making and printing stages are compatible with PBAT/PLA film. However, the blown film extrusion stage requires a dedicated biodegradable film machine — PLA/PBAT blends cannot be run on a standard PE blown film machine due to different screw geometry and temperature control requirements. If your target market requires certified compostable courier bags, the film extrusion stage must be specified as a biodegradable specialist line. See the LayerQuestar Biodegradable Film Machine page for full details.
Standard after-sales support includes: remote installation guidance via video call, English-language operation manuals for all three machines, and a 12-month warranty on parts under normal operating conditions. On-site commissioning by a LayerQuestar engineer is available as an optional service — lead time and cost depend on your location. [NEEDS CLIENT VERIFICATION — confirm current on-site service availability and pricing]
Tell us your target bag size, daily output requirement and whether you need print capability. LayerQuestar's engineers will specify the exact three-stage configuration for your operation.
