Star-seal bin liners, C-fold large-capacity bags, drawstring trash bags and pet waste bag rolls — LayerQuestar covers every garbage bag format from household to industrial, in PE and PBAT.
Not all garbage bags are made the same way. The bag format — star-seal roll, C-fold large bag, drawstring closure, or pet waste roll — determines which machine platform you need. Choose your product first, then choose your machine.
The reinforced star-seal bottom distributes stress evenly across multiple seal points — the standard format for supermarket private-label garbage bag rolls worldwide. Dual-lane output up to 440 pcs/min.
LQ-GB2L-350 / LQ-GB2L-400
Wide-format PE film is heat-sealed, perforated and then folded lengthwise (C-fold) before winding — compressing a 1000–1200 mm bag into a compact roll. The standard format for 80–120 L outdoor and industrial bin liners.
LQ-GB-1000 / LQ-GB-1200
The machine automatically threads a continuous ribbon through the bag opening during production — no secondary operation required. The dominant household trash bag format in North American and European retail markets.
LQ-DG-800 / LQ-DG-1000
Purpose-built for small-format roll bags: dog waste bags, coreless dispenser rolls and biodegradable PBAT pet bags. Automatic labelling and continuous rewinding without stopping the machine.
LQ-PG-260Three questions narrow seven models down to one. Answer them in order.
The bag format is the first and most important filter. Each format requires a different sealing mechanism — machines are not interchangeable across formats.
Supermarket bin liner rolls, household waste bags, private-label roll packs. The global default for retail garbage bags.
Outdoor bins, industrial waste, municipal collection bags. 80–120 L capacity. Compact roll for large-format bags.
North American and European household trash bags. Premium segment. Drawstring closure integrated during production.
Dog waste bags, coreless dispenser rolls, biodegradable PBAT pet bags for retail and municipal dispensers.
Once you have identified the format, width determines which model within that series is appropriate.

Both models use star-seal bottom sealing and dual-lane configuration for simultaneous two-roll output. The key difference is flexibility: the LQ-GB2L-350 is a fixed-format high-speed specialist; the LQ-GB2L-400 is a multi-format machine with PBAT support.
Star-Seal
Fixed-Format Specialist
Fixed 300 mm width and 800 mm length. Simpler mechanical structure, lower power consumption, lighter footprint. Ideal for factories producing a single standard bin liner SKU at maximum speed.
Star-Seal
Multi-Format + PBAT
Adjustable width (80–300 mm) and length (500–1500 mm) allows production of multiple bag SKUs on one machine. PBAT film compatible for certified compostable bin liners. Higher investment, broader product range.
Both C-fold models seal and perforate wide-format PE film, then fold it lengthwise before winding — producing compact rolls of large-capacity bags. Choose by the maximum bag width your product requires.
C-Fold
Produces large-capacity garbage bags up to 1000 mm wide and 900 mm long. Suitable for 60–80 L outdoor bins, park waste bins and commercial waste collection. Higher speed than the 1200 model.
C-Fold
Max Width
The widest C-fold model in the LayerQuestar range. Produces extra-large bags up to 1200 mm wide and 1100 mm long — suitable for 80–120 L industrial waste bins, construction site waste and municipal collection programmes.
Both LQ-DG models automatically thread a continuous ribbon through the bag opening during production. Choose by the bag width range your product requires: the LQ-DG-800 covers kitchen and bathroom sizes; the LQ-DG-1000 covers larger household and outdoor bins.
Drawstring
Produces drawstring-closure garbage bags in the 400–700 mm width range — the standard size for kitchen and bathroom bins. Integrated automatic ribbon-threading mechanism. No secondary operation required.
Drawstring
Wider format (500–900 mm) for larger household bins, outdoor waste containers and commercial applications. Same integrated automatic ribbon-threading mechanism as the LQ-DG-800. Longer minimum bag length (500 mm) suited to taller bins.
The LQ-PG-260 is purpose-built for small-format roll bags. It supports both PE and PBAT film, includes automatic labelling and continuous rewinding without stopping the machine — features not available on general-purpose garbage bag machines.
Pet Waste
PBAT Compatible
Produces dog waste bag rolls in PE or PBAT (biodegradable/compostable). Supports coreless configuration for park dispensers. Automatic labelling unit and continuous rewinding without machine stoppage maximise uptime. Three servo motors ensure precise bag length control at 150–180 pcs/min.
Complete technical specifications for all garbage bag machine models. All output figures are under standard operating conditions and vary by bag dimensions, film quality and operator settings.

Four sealing and forming technologies, each engineered for a specific bag format and market requirement.
A star-seal bottom creates 8–12 individual seal points radiating from the bag base. When the bag is loaded, stress distributes across all seal points rather than concentrating on a single linear seam. The result is a stronger bottom at the same film thickness — or the same strength at a thinner, lower-cost film gauge.
Both LQ-GB2L models run two parallel production lanes on a single machine frame, operated by one person. Combined output reaches 440 pcs/min. Floor space and power consumption are significantly lower than running two separate single-lane machines at equivalent total output.
After sealing and perforation, the wide-format film passes through a C-fold unit that folds it lengthwise before winding. A 1000 mm wide bag becomes a 500 mm wide roll — half the shelf space, easier to handle and ship. The consumer unfolds the bag naturally when pulling it from the roll.
The LQ-DG series integrates the drawstring ribbon directly into the bag-making process. A continuous ribbon is automatically threaded through the bag opening channel as each bag is formed and sealed. The finished bag exits the machine ready for retail packaging — no separate ribbon-insertion step required.
The LQ-PG-260 winder unit switches to a new core automatically without halting the bag-making process. Combined with the automatic tube-core vibration plate supply and integrated labelling unit, the machine runs continuously through roll changes — maximising uptime on small-format, high-count roll production.
The LQ-GB2L-400 and LQ-PG-260 process PBAT biodegradable film on the same mechanical platform as standard PE. Switching between PE and PBAT requires only temperature parameter adjustment to match PBAT's sealing characteristics — no tooling changes, no hardware upgrades. Compostability certification (EN 13432, ASTM D6400) applies to the film material, not the machine.

Technical and commercial questions about garbage bag making machines — answered.
A flat-seal bag has a single linear heat-seal running across the bottom. A star-seal bag has multiple seal points radiating from the centre of the base — typically 8 to 12 points — creating a reinforced bottom that distributes load stress across the entire base rather than concentrating it on one seam. Star-seal bags are stronger at equivalent film thickness, which is why they are the preferred format for retail bin liner rolls worldwide. The LQ-GB2L series produces star-seal bags exclusively.
Both are dual-lane star-seal machines with the same maximum speed (220×2 pcs/min), but they serve different production strategies. The LQ-GB2L-350 is a fixed-format specialist: bag width and length are fixed at 300 mm and 800 mm respectively. Its simpler mechanical structure means lower power consumption (10 kW vs 18 kW) and lower machine weight (1,800 kg vs 4,000 kg). It is the right choice if you produce one standard bin liner SKU at maximum volume. The LQ-GB2L-400 has adjustable width (80–300 mm) and length (500–1,500 mm), supports PBAT biodegradable film, and suits factories that need to produce multiple bag sizes or serve markets with biodegradable bag requirements.
A C-fold machine seals and perforates wide-format PE film in the standard way, then passes the film through a dedicated C-fold unit before winding. The C-fold unit folds the film lengthwise — a 1,000 mm wide bag becomes a 500 mm wide folded strip — before it is wound onto the output roll. This allows large-capacity bags (60–120 L) to be packaged in compact rolls that are easier to handle, shelf-stack and ship. The consumer unfolds the bag naturally when pulling it from the roll. Without C-folding, a 1,000 mm bag roll would be impractically large for retail packaging.
The LQ-DG series integrates an automatic ribbon-threading mechanism directly into the bag-making process. As each bag is formed, a continuous ribbon is fed through a channel created at the bag opening during sealing. The ribbon is threaded through this channel in a single pass — no secondary operation is required after the bag exits the machine. The finished bag comes off the line with the drawstring already in place, ready for counting, rolling and retail packaging.
Yes. The LQ-GB2L-400 processes both PE and PBAT film on the same mechanical platform. Switching between the two materials requires adjusting the sealing temperature parameters to match PBAT's different thermal sealing characteristics — no tooling changes, no hardware modifications. The compostability certification (EN 13432 for Europe, ASTM D6400 for North America) is a property of the film material itself, not the machine. You would need to source certified PBAT film and obtain the relevant certification for your finished bags separately.
No. Both LQ-GB2L models are designed to be operated by a single person. The two lanes run in parallel on one machine frame with a unified control system — one operator monitors both lanes, handles film roll changes and manages the output rolls. This is one of the primary advantages of the dual-lane design: you achieve the output equivalent of two single-lane machines with one operator and significantly less floor space.
The two models are identical in speed (50–160 pcs/min), power (18 kW), footprint and weight. The only difference is the bag width and length range. The LQ-DG-800 covers 400–700 mm width and 300–1,000 mm length — suitable for kitchen and bathroom bin sizes (typically 30–50 L). The LQ-DG-1000 covers 500–900 mm width and 500–1,000 mm length — suitable for larger household bins and outdoor waste containers (typically 50–80 L). If your product range spans both size categories, you may need both models.
Yes. The LQ-PG-260 winder unit supports both cored and coreless roll configurations. The coreless configuration is specifically relevant for municipal park dispensers and wall-mounted pet waste bag stations, which require rolls without a cardboard core. The machine's tube-core vibration plate supply system handles automatic core feeding for cored rolls; the coreless configuration bypasses this system. Contact LayerQuestar to confirm the specific winder setup for your target dispenser format.
All models in the garbage bag machine range accept flat-wound film rolls as input. The required film width equals twice the finished bag width (for folded-film machines) or the full bag width (for single-layer machines), plus sealing allowance. Film thickness must fall within the machine's specified range — see the full specification table above. If you are producing your own film on a LayerQuestar blown film machine, the output rolls feed directly into the bag machine without additional processing. Contact LayerQuestar to confirm roll diameter, core size and film tension specifications for your specific model combination.
Tell us your bag format, target dimensions, daily output and material. LayerQuestar's engineering team will recommend the right model across all four platforms and send a formal quotation within one business day.
