Poly mailer and courier bag refer to the same product — a flat, side-sealed PE film bag used for e-commerce shipping. "Poly mailer" is the term commonly used in North American and European markets; "courier bag" or "express bag" is the term used in Asian and Middle Eastern markets. Both are produced on the same LQ-SSCB series machines.

The two series use different sealing technology and are designed for different film materials. The LQ-SSCB series is a side-seal machine optimised for PE and PBAT films — the soft, flexible material used in standard e-commerce courier bags. The LQ-SS series is a side-seal heat-cut machine designed for BOPP and OPP films — stiffer, higher-clarity materials used in garment bags, retail packaging and food bags. The two platforms are not interchangeable: you cannot run BOPP film on an LQ-SSCB machine, or PE film on an LQ-SS machine.

Yes. Both LQ-SSCB-800 and LQ-SSCB-500×2 support PBAT film processing. PBAT (polybutylene adipate terephthalate) is the primary material used in certified compostable courier bags. Switching from PE to PBAT film on the same machine requires no mechanical modification — only temperature parameter adjustment to suit the PBAT film's sealing characteristics. The compostability certification (EN 13432 for Europe, AS 4736 for Australia) applies to the film material, not the machine.

The LQ-SSCB-500×2 runs two parallel bag-making lanes on a single machine frame, operated by one person. Compared to two separate single-lane machines: floor space requirement is approximately 30% less, total power consumption is lower (18 kW vs. 28 kW for two LQ-SSCB-800 units), and only one operator is needed. The trade-off is that both lanes must run the same bag size simultaneously — independent size adjustment per lane is not available on the standard configuration. For the LQ-SSCB series, the input film roll must be PE or PBAT, flat-wound (not gusseted), with a width equal to twice the finished bag width plus sealing allowance. Film thickness should be within 0.008–0.05mm. If you are producing your own film on a LayerQuestar blown film machine, the film roll output from the blown film line feeds directly into the bag machine without additional processing. All three LQ-SS models (LQ-SS-600, LQ-SS-800, LQ-SS-1000) have a maximum sealing and cutting length of 600mm. The model number refers to the sealing width capacity, not the length. If your bag requires a length greater than 600mm, the LQ-SSCB-800 (maximum 850mm length) is the appropriate choice — provided your material is PE or PBAT rather than BOPP/OPP.

Yes. The LQ-SS series includes an integrated automatic gluing unit as standard. This applies a self-adhesive peel-and-seal strip to the bag opening during production. The finished bag is ready for use without secondary processing. Automatic punching is also standard on the LQ-SS series — both features are built into the machine, not optional add-ons.

Bag length adjustment is done via the computer control panel — no mechanical change required. Bag width adjustment requires changing the film roll and adjusting the guide rails, which typically takes 15–30 minutes depending on operator experience.
